Amazing Training for Amazing Animals!

Many people can't imagine life without dogs. We admire and adore them for their loyalty, unconditional affection, playful exuberance and zest for life. Nevertheless, dogs and people are VERY different aniamls. Although officially "man's best friend," dogs have some innocent but irksome tendencies- like JUMPING UP TO GREET, BARKING, DIGGING, CHEWING etc- that can make it downright difficult to live with them! To make the most of your relationship with your dog, you need to both understand your dog's mentality and you need to teach them some important skills that will help them to live harmoniously in a human household.

Positive Reinforcement
Based Training!

After years of Dominance based training, more and more people are learning about the kinder, gentler and much more effctive mothods of training using

Positive Reinforcement!

So what exactly is

Positive Reinformcement?

It is training that involves rewarding good behaviors. In other words, when your dog does something right, such as sit, he gets a treat! You are letting your dog know that when he does as you ask, good things happen for him.

Let's take a minute to look at it from your dog's perspective. You ask him to sit. He doesn't really understand, so you put your hand on his rear and push all while jerking his collar upwards, thus forcing him to sit. Once he sits, the pressure is removed. It works, but it's probably not the most fun you or your dog has ever had. It certainly won't motivate or excite him about the next trainging session! Now with positive reinforement, we take a treat and let the dog smell it. Slowly, we raise it above and back over the head. Your dog will raise his nose and follow the treat, sitting back on his haunches. You then reward him with the treat for a job well done!

Not only have you taught your dog to sit, you'll have him looking forward to his next training session!
